Crumpling of a pyrolytic graphite sheet
نویسندگان
چکیده
Crumpled graphite thin film balls were fabricated with Panasonic Pyrolytic Graphite Sheets (PGS). The fractal dimension, mechanical properties, and electrical conductivity of the crumpled PGS balls have been investigated. The universal local fractal dimension of the PGS balls is found to be 2.58, which is consistent with that of paper balls. The crumpled PGS balls show good mechanical property with Young’s Modulus of 16–17 N, which is about the same as that of paper balls and elastoplastic paper balls, but with much smaller sizes, thinner film thicknesses, and less weight. In addition, the crumpled PGS balls show good conductivity, slightly higher than that of the PGS film before crumpling. VC 2013 AIP Publishing LLC. [http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.4827842]

This guide sheet outlines a method for the analysis of cubic crystal forms, this being useful to you for interpreting the transmission diffraction pattern produced by scattering electrons off a thin film target of polycrystalline aluminium. The apparatus also contains samples with hexagonal structures. These are pyrolytic graphite targets, and are available both as single crystals and in polycr...
متن کاملVoltammetric Behavior and Determination of Trace Amounts of Omeprazole Using an Edge-plane Pyrolytic Graphite Electrode
The voltammetric performance of edge-plane pyrolytic graphite (EPG) electrode via adsorptive stripping voltammetry was investigated for study of the electrochemical behavior of omeprazole (OMZ) in aqueous solution. The results revealed that the oxidation of OMZ is an irreversible pH-dependent process that proceeds with the transfer of one electron and one proton in an adsorption-controlled mech...

متن کاملNucleation and Growth of Nanoscale to Microscale Cylindrical Pits in Highly-ordered Pyrolytic Graphite upon Hyperthermal Atomic Oxygen Exposure
The erosion of highly-ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) caused by exposure to hyperthermal atomic oe p) atoms was explored. Profilometry has revealed that the overall erosion yield is linear with respect to increasing atomic oxygen exposure at a constant sample temperature of 373 K. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was employed to image the eroded material that contains numerous nanoscale to micro...

In this study, Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite was ablated in various polar and nonpolar solvents by Q-switched neodymium: yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser (wavelength=1064 nm, frequency=2 kHz, pulse duration=240 ns). Then, the products were examined using Scanning Electron Microscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The images showed that different carbon structures such as cauliflower-like structures...
